Posthuman Art Wars or, P.A.W. is a tabletop roleplaying game that seeks to provoke discussion and connections between artistic labour and environmental devastation including climate change, particularly in light of new digital technologies like generative AI.
The game is designed to be printed on non-fancy printers and played at home, with coloured & BW versions available in PDFs. I produced illustrations and graphic designs for this game.
I made everything in ASCII art, and also converted Nikta Mohammadi's photography for this game into ASCII art for the BW version. ASCII art is great. It's home-printing-friendly, it's smaller than image files, it's a retro internet relic with an awesome aesthetic, it's against the "industry" pursuit of higher definition and realistic graphics, it's an F-you to the big AIs because LLMs suck at it.
